Garden Plaza
Hotel
A concept that's
something else.
Business and leisure travelers have
traditionally been faced with a
choice between the outrageously
extravagant luxury hotel and the
ordinary, and often outmoded,
roadside property. Garden Plaza
lets them opt for something else.
Generous comfort, thoughtful
features, convenient location...
all at a moderate price.
Located near the center
of expanding business activity,
Garden Plaza will offer a wide
range of guest amenities usually
reserved for the extravagant and
never found in the ordinary. Larger
rooms and baths. King-size beds,
two phones with longer cords, and
remote -control cable television.
Separate dressing areas with full-
length mirrors. Seating areas, func-
tional work spaces and individual
climate control.
Outside the guest room, each
Garden Plaza will feature a
beautifully -landscaped multi -story
atrium lobby, and offer a glass -
enclosed, year-round pool, whirl-
pool and spa.
Scribbles will provide a relaxing
atmosphere, innovative menu and
superb service for both pleasure
and business dining. The state-of-
the-art sound system and vibrant
mood of Scribbles lounge area will
quickly establish it as the gathering
spot in each community.
Garden Plaza will have that
something extra guests have been
looking for without the extra cost
they've already found.
Garden Plaza is something else.
Something exciting.
A success record
that's something else.
For Cooper Hotel Group, the parent
company, the Garden Plaza con-
cept is a natural outgrowth of years
of success in the hospitality indus-
try. Since 1960 when Irby Cooper
opened his first property, the Holi-
day Inn of Gatlinburg, innovation
has been a watchword for this
growing company.
At the time that first property
opened, Gatlinburg was considered
strictly a summer resort, unable to
support a hotel all year, but Mr.
Cooper saw the potential for the
area and was able to take full
advantage of Gatlinburg's excep-
tional growth as an all -season
resort community.
Since then, he has brought
together an outstanding staff of
experienced hotel experts to plan,
construct and manage first class
hotels in five states. Today, the
Cooper Hotel Group is involved in
ten hotels in the Holiday Inn,
Ramada and Hilton systems, with
over 2,500 guest rooms plus numer-
ous restaurants, lounges, meeting
and recreational facilities.
At each property, Cooper has
constantly made improvements to
meet guests' needs and enhance
their comfort and convenience.
Everything that has been found to
be the most -successful, the most -
helpful, has been incorporated into
the Garden Plaza Hotel concept.
Cooper Hotel Group's success
record is something else. Some-
thing special.
Creating something else
takes something else.
The open feeling, inviting amenities
and exciting marketing for Garden
Plaza Hotels is a result of the talents
of many people and companies, all
long -familiar with the needs and
opportunities of the hospitality
industry. Garden Plaza and Cooper
Hotel Group bring the extensive
expertise and experience of hotel
professional Dean P Taylor and
master appraiser John Crabb
together with the innovative con-
cepts and functional designs of
Sidney I. Hankins, III, architect, and
Unicorn International, interior
designers. Marketing and adver-
tising are the responsibilities of
Swearingen & Conaway, inter-
national award winners in the
hospitality field.
The team that created Garden
Plaza Hotels is something else.
Something unbeatable.
