HomeMy WebLinkAbout22528 1 ORDINANCE NO.22,528 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE IT IMPRACTICAL AND UNFEASIBLE TO 4 BID; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT 5 WITH MYSTAIRE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-ONE 6 THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED FOURTEEN DOLLARS ($41,914.00), FOR TILE 7 PURCHASE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE EQUIPMENT FOR THE CRIME SCENE 8 ' SEARCH UNIT;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has a need to purchase forensic science 10 equipment from Mystaire for the Crime Scene Search Unit;and, 11 WHEREAS,the forensic equipment requested is essential for the department operations; and, 12 WHEREAS,the Mystaire drying chamber,ductless chemical hood and fuming chamber all work in 13 synchrony with the existing equipment that meets Crime Scene Search Unit safety protocols and needs; 14 and, 15 WHEREAS,the cost of this purchase is not to exceed Forty-One Thousand,Nine Hundred Fourteen 16 Dollars($41,914.00),with funds available from the Police Equipment Fund,210529-S00B311;and, 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with 20 Mystaire for the purchase of essential forensic science equipment. 21 Section 2. The cost of this purchase is not to exceed Forty-One Thousand, Nine Hundred Fourteen 22 Dollars($41,914.00),with funds available from the Police Equipment Fund,210529-S00B311. 23 Section 3. The Little Rock Police Department staff vetted and approved the sole source forensic 24 equipment request based upon the Crime Scene Search Unit safety protocols and compatibility with existing 25 equipment and requests the Board of Directors declare it is impractical and unfeasible to submit this 26 purchase to competitive bids. 27 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 ordinance. 32 Section 5. Repealer.
