Home My WebLink About22523 1 ORDINANCE NO.22,523 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE IT IMPRACTICAL AND UNFEASIBLE 4 TO BID, TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A 5 SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT WITH GREYSTONE PARTNERS, INC., IN 6 AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-NINE THOUSAND, SEVEN 7 HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($49,775.00) PLUS APPLICABLE 8 TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF HELMETS FOR THE 9 SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION,AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has a need to purchase helmets from 12 Greystone Partners Inc.for the Special Operations Division;and, 13 WHEREAS,the LRPD helmets are tools essential for the department operations and are equipped 14 with visors and communication devices;and, 15 WHEREAS, the equipment is to be procured through Greystone Partners, Inc., the designated 16 dealer of record for Greystone services and products;and, 17 WHEREAS,due to the unique vendor relationship through the dealer of record status,the cost for 18 LRPD helmets is twenty percent (20%) lower for an amount not to exceed Forty-Nine Thousand Seven 19 Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars($49,775.00)plus applicable fees and taxes; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 21 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The Board.of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to purchase Helmets for 23 the Little Rock Police Department through Greystone Partners, Inc., the designated dealer of record for 24 Greystone services and products. 25 Section 2.The cost of this purchase is not exceed Forty-Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy- 26 Five Dollars ($49,775.00) plus applicable fees and taxes with funds available from the Fund, 270529- 27 G52DF21A/JAG21, (Grant $3,548.62), 270529-G52DF22A/JAG 22 ($44,976.67) and 105240-61130 28 ($1,249.71). 29 Section 3. The Little Rock Police Department staff vetted and approved the sole source helmet 30 request based upon the quality,durability,economical value and compatibility with existing equipment and 31 requests the Board of Directors declare it is impractical and unfeasible to submit this purchase to 32 competitive bids. (Page 1 of 2] 1 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 2 or word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and • 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 5 ordinance. 6 Section 5. Repealer.
