Soil erodibility factor, K of 0.32 has measured (Table-10-1,Appendix-B, City of Little Rock Stormwater & Drainage Manual).Table-10-2 Appendix-B City of Little Rock Stormwater & Drainage Manual, identifies theslope length factor, LS = 0.758 for 5.0% slope and 200-foot slope length.Assuming loose straw or hay applied at a rate of 2 ton/acre on slopes from six to tenpercent which yields a cover and management factor, C of 0.12 with a maximum slopelength of 200 feet (table 10-3, Appendix-B, City of Little Rock Stormwater & DrainageManual)Buffer zone, silt fences, natural vegetation, Rip–Rap check dam control practices are beingimplemented, so the practice factor is, P=0.5.Therefore,Soil loss in tons per acre per year, A = 300 (0.32) (0.758) (0.12) (0.50) =4.37 tons/acre/year.The potential soil loss of 4.37 tons/acre/year is within the allowable soil loss of5 tons/acre/year.Initial soil calculation with no erosion control measures = 300 (0.32) (0.758) =72.77 tons/acre/year.
