Markham Little Rock, AR 72201-1334 Planning and Development, I am writing to apply for a business license, Short -Term Rental-2, to operate a short-term rental establishment in our esteemed cherished Central High School historic neighborhood. My vision for this venture goes beyond providing accommodation; it is about honoring the rich history and vibrant community spirit that defines our neighborhood. Through meticulous renovation and restoration efforts, my goal is to create a short-term rental experience that not only offers comfortable lodging but also serves as a platform to share the captivating stories of the individuals who have called our historic building home. With the support of the Qua Paw association, and as an active member, I am actively working to commemorate the legacy of the Peay family, whose presence has left an indelible mark on our community. In addition to my collaboration with the Qua Paw association and the Central Library, I have been in communication with key stakeholders who share a vested interest in the preservation and revitalization of our historic neighborhood. This includes Hannah Ratzlaff, City of Little Rock -Urban -Designer, Tom Marr from the "Preservation Department, as well as representatives from the Wright's Neighborhood Association and the Dunbar Neighborhood Association. These ongoing discussions have allowed me to gain valuable insights and guidance on navigating the regulatory and community landscape as I embark on this endeavor. By fostering open dialogue and collaboration with these stakeholders, I am committed -to ensuring that my short term rental establishment aligns with the collective vision for our neighborhood's growth and development. The Central Arkansas Library research has unearthed fascinating discoveries, (https://youtu.bel-aU-YincO SA'?si-3C"] cSK1VVrWakonHY) including evidence suggesting that our property's history predates official records. This revelation underscores the significance of preserving and celebrating the heritage of our neighborhood, ensuring that the narratives of its past inhabitants are not forgotten.
