CITY BEAUTIFUL
COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
The City Beautiful Commission held a planned meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024,
at Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, 3805 West 12th Street. The Webex system was
not operating for the meeting. Chairman Steven Homeyer called the meeting to order.

APPROVAL OF THE JULY MEETING MINUTES:
Motion: A motion was made that the July 25, 2024, minutes be approved.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.

Two (2) nominations have been made and staff are scheduling presentation with recipients.
T.R.E.E. Fund:
No report.
Landscape Awards:
Nominations due in September.
Award slides will be coordinated with staff.
NEW BUSINESS:
• Announcement of new Planning Department Staff a next meeting.
• Announcement that starting in September the meetings will start being held at the City Hall
Board Room.
• Discussion was held regarding additional updates to the July 2024 meeting minutes.
• Staff stated the new “Eye of the Beholder” cards are being printed.
• Staff shall review the attendance records of the members and report to commission.
• Next year’s meeting schedule to be reviewed.
• Discussion of medians around city including condition of Park Hill area.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The next Commission meeting will be September 26, 2024.
Nominations for Landscape Awards need to be considered for submission.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman Homeyer entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Motion: A motion was made for the meeting to adjourn.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:27 pm.
