3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH BARRE COMMERCIAL PLAYGROUNDS,
5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY THOUSAND, SIX
6 HUNDRED SEVENTY AND 45/100 DOLLARS ($70,670.45), PLUS
7 APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE RESURFACING OF THE
8 CAFE AFRICA PLAYGROUND AND THE INSTALLATION OF SHADE
9 SAILS AT THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, the current surface at the Café Africa Playground has deteriorated and has become a
12 safety hazard;and,
13 WHEREAS,vendor selection was made utilizing the TIPS Contract Cooperative Purchasing Program,
14 Contract No.24010402,to resurface the playground surface and to install Shade Sales; and,
15 WHEREAS,the cost to resurface Café Africa Playground and to install Shade Sails shall not exceed
16 Seventy Thousand, Six Hundred Seventy and 45/100 Dollars($70,670.45),plus applicable taxes and fees.
17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with Barre
20 Commercial Playgrounds, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Seventy Thousand, Six Hundred Seventy and
21 45/100 Dollars ($70,670.45), plus applicable taxes and fees,to resurface the Café Africa Playground and
22 to install Shade Sails.
23 Section 2. Funding for the project is allocated in the Zoo Stormwater Outfall Project, Account No.
24 108659-S65C370.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution,which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
