3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 ENTER INTO
CONTRACTS
WITH B.
R. MCGINTY
5 MECHANICAL
AND W.W.
GAY
MECHANICAL
6 CONTRACTOR, INC. TO PROVIDE OVERFLOW PLUMBING
7 REPAIRS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
9 WHEREAS, the City's Building Services staff is sometimes insufficient to
10 perform overflow plumbing repairs in a timely manner, and
11 WHEREAS, it has been more economically feasible to handle such repairs by
12 contract rather than increasing the Building Services staff, and
13 WHEREAS, an invitation to bid on an annual contract was issued to provide
14 plumbers to perform overflow plumbing repairs on an hourly basis when the City staff
15 cannot respond in a timely manner, and B.R. McGinty Mechanical submitted the most
16 responsible and responsive bid to be the primary contractor, and W.W. Gay Mechanical
17 Contractor, Inc. submitted the second lowest qualifying bid to be the secondary
18 contractor for this purpose.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
20 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
22 into contracts with B. R. McGinty Mechanical, as primary contractor, and W.W. Gay
23 Mechanical Contractor, Inc., as secondary contractor, to provide overflow plumbing
24 services on an hourly basis as required.
25 Section 2. Funds are available from Building Services Operating Budget.

I Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
2 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
3 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
4 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
5 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
6 resolution.
7 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
8 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
9 of such inconsistency.
