HomeMy WebLinkAbout12362i RESOLUTION NO. 12,362 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO REQUIRE AN ADDITIONAL FILTER SYSTEM ON THE 4 LITTLE MAUMELLE WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY; AND FOR OTHER PUR- 5 POSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Sanitary Sewer Committee has approached the Board of Directors of the 8 City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to seek approval to issue revenue bonds for capital improvements to Lit - 9 tle Rock Wastewater Utility facilities including, but not limited to, the Little Maumelle Wastewater 10 Treatment Plant; and, 1 1 WHEREAS, after considerable discussion and review it has been decided to place in operation a 12 step -feed activated sludge treatment system at the Little Maumelle Wastewater Treatment Plant, but 13 this system does not preclude the use of an additional filter system; and, 14 WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to assure 15 that this treatment facility not only meets current state and federal environmental requirements, but 16 that it is able to meet future requirements of this nature; 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 18 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. The Board of Directors states its intent to require that the Little Maumetle Wastewater 20 Treatment Plant include, in addition to the step -feed activated sludge treatment methodology, an ap- 21 propriate filter system to assure that the discharge of the facility will be at least equal to the quality 22 of discharge that would result from a membrane bioreactor system. 23 Section 2. The Board of Directors desires that the cost of a filter system be included in the pro - 24 posed revenue bond issue, and resulting rate structure, that is to be presented to the Board of Direc- 25 tors for consideration on November 21, 2006. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, 27 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force 29 and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part 30 of the resolution. 31 Section 4. Repealer.
