HomeMy WebLinkAbout16366 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,366 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO EXPRESS THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF 4 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO UTILIZE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT 5 OF PARKS, HERITAGE AND TOURISM OUTDOOR RECREATION 6 GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS; TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY 7 MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY 8 APPLICATIONS, AGREEMENTS AND CONTRACTS FOR ITS 9 ADMINISTRATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, ("City") acknowledges that 2024 Grant Funds are 12 available from the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism's Outdoor Recreation Grants 13 Program; and, 14 WHEREAS,the City further acknowledges that funds are available for this grant project on a"dollar- 15 for-dollar" match basis, and that the City shall provide Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars 16 ($275,000.00); and, 17 WHEREAS,the grant project will support the development of an enhanced outdoor archery facility, 18 as well as a restroom, which would intersect at Rebsamen Golf Course, the Arkansas River Trail and the 19 upgraded archery facility; and, 20 WHEREAS, matching funds in the amount of Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars 21 ($275,000.00) will be provided from the Parks Outdoor Recreation Grant Match 2024, Account No. 22 108129-S45G068; and, 23 WHEREAS,if the grant is awarded,the City will be required to maintain the space as recreation space 24 in perpetuity,remain open and available at all reasonable times of the day and year,and ensure future utility 25 lines are underground. 26 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 27 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 28 Section 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock states its desire participate in the use of 29 grant funding in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of this project. 30 Section 2. The Mayor and City Manager and any other necessary City employees are hereby authorized 31 and directed to execute any and all appropriate applications,agreements and contracts necessary to expedite 32 the construction and renovation of the above stated project. 33 Section 3. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to apply for, and the Arkansas [Page 1 of 2] 1 Department of Parks,Heritage and Tourism to initiate action to implement this project. 2 Section 4. Funding for the Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($275,000.00) matching 3 funds are available in the Parks Outdoor Recreation Grant Match 2024,Account No. 108129-S45G068. 4 Section 5. Severability. In the event any title, subtitle, section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph, 5 subparagraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or work of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid 6 or unconstitutional,such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, 7 which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 8 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. 9 Section 6. Repealer.
