HomeMy WebLinkAbout16362 RESOLUTION NO. 16,362 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH DOYNE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY,INC., 5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,500,000.00), FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 7 THE LITTLE ROCK MICRO HOME VILLAGE, TO BE LOCATED AT 8 3405 WEST ROOSEVELT ROAD; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,has been working to develop a Micro Home Village, 11 to be located at 3405 West Roosevelt Road,that will provide housing to unsheltered individuals and families 12 as they are transitioning into permanent housing;and, 13 WHEREAS,the Micro Home Village will consist of eighty(80)non-congregated shelter homes and a 14 community center that will provide case management, essential services, meals, laundry facilities, 15 classrooms and can serve as a low barrier emergency shelter for thirty-two(32)individuals. 16 WHEREAS,Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,524 (August 17, 2021), authorized investments to 17 affordable housing & efforts to decrease homelessness in the amount of One Million, Five Hundred 18 Thousand Dollars($1,500,000.00);and, 19 WHEREAS,utilizing The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS),Doyne Construction Company,Inc., 20 was selected as the most responsible and responsive;and, 21 WHEREAS,the amount of the contract shall not exceed One Million,Five Hundred Thousand Dollars 22 ($1,500,000.00),and is available through the American Rescue Plan Act Funds. 23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with Doyne 26 Construction Company, Inc., in an amount not to exceed One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars 27 ($1,500,000.00), for the construction of the Little Rock Micro Home Village, to be located at 3405 West 28 Roosevelt Road. 29 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from the American Rescue Plan Act,TREA Housing 30 Homeless, Account No. 271259-G0310AR35A-72500, in the amount of Nine Hundred Fifty Thousand, 31 Four Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars($950,494.00),HOME ARP Support Services Homeless, Account No. 32 240009-G3564421A-72500, in the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) and 33 Homelessness Outreach 2024, Account No. 108129-S100621-72500, in the amount of Three Hundred 34 Forty-Nine Thousand,Five Hundred Six Dollars($349,506.00). Page I of 21 1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 2 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 5 resolution. 6 Section 4. Repealer.
