3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH R.VALADEZ CONSTRUCTION,INC.,IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-THREE THOUSAND, TWENTY-
6 SEVEN AND 67/100 DOLLARS ($63,027.67), FOR THE KAVANAUGH
7 BOULEVARD & UNIVERSITY AVENUE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT
8 PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the Kavanaugh Boulevard & University Avenue Drainage
11 Improvement Project,Bid.No. 2481;and,
12 WHEREAS,R.Valadez Construction,Inc., submitted the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
13 specifications of the two(2)bids received for the project;and,
14 WHEREAS,the total cost of the project shall not exceed Sixty-Three Thousand, Twenty-Seven and
15 67/100 Dollars($63,027.67),which includes a 20%contingency.
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with R.
19 Valadez Construction,Inc., in an amount not to exceed Sixty-Three Thousand,Twenty-Seven and 67/100
20 Dollars ($63,027.67), which includes a 20% contingency, for the Kavanaugh Boulevard & University
21 Avenue Drainage Improvement Project.
22 Section 2. funding for this project is allocated in the Limited Tax General Obligation Capital
23 Improvement Bonds as authorized by Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,9668 (May 2, 2023), Account
24 No.B3D027D.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution,which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. AI I laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
