HomeMy WebLinkAbout22472 1 ORDINANCE NO. 22,472 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE IT IMPRACTICAL AND UNFEASIBLE 4 TO BID; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A 5 CONTRACT WITH SIDDONS MARTIN EMERGENCY GROUP, IN AN 6 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND 7 DOLLARS ($350,000.00), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR 8 AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR PIERCE FIRE TRUCK PARTS AND 9 SERVICE FOR THE FLEET SERVICES DEPARTMENT; AND FOR 10 OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS,it is critical that the Fleet Services Department("Fleet")be equipped with reliable parts 13 and service tools for minor repairs and maintenance on Pierce Fire Trucks currently in the City's Fleet;and, 14 WHEREAS, Siddons Martin Emergency Group is the only authorized Pierce dealer in Central 15 Arkansas;and, 16 WHEREAS, the contract is for a period of one (1)-year with an option to renew for up to two (2) 17 additional one(1)-year terms;and, 18 WHEREAS, the Annual Budget for each one (1)-year term is not to exceed Three Hundred Fifty 19 Thousand Dollars($350,000.00),plus applicable taxes and fees. 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorize the City Manager to enter into a one (1)-year 23 contract with Siddons Martin Emergency Group, in an annual amount not to exceed Three Hundred Fifty 24 Thousand Dollars($350,000.00),plus applicable taxes and fees,for the purchase of Pierce Fire Truck Parts 25 and Service for the Fleet Services Department. 26 Section 2. Funding is allocated in the various Fleet Maintenance and Parts Accounts. 27 Section 3. Siddons Martin Emergency Group is the only distributor for the Pierce Fire Truck Parts and 28 Service in Central Arkansas meeting the Department's specifications,the Board of Directors declares it is 29 impractical and unfeasible to submit this purchase to competitive bids. 30 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section,paragraph, item,sentence,clause,phrase, or 31 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance,which shall remain in full force and 33 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 34 ordinance.
