3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH KETCHER AND COMPANY, INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND
6 DOLLARS ($160,000.00), FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A PORTION OF
7 THE ROOF AT DUNBAR COMMUNITY CENTER; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the Parks& Recreation Department has identified improvements that need to be made at
11 Dunbar Community Center as a result of years of deferred maintenance;and,
12 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,783 (August 6, 2022) stated the intent to spend
13 American Rescue Plan Act Funds on Parks&Community Centers;and,
14 WHEREAS, Ketcher and Company, Inc., is a TIPS Contract Roofing Company, Contract No.
15 21060302, that is currently working with the hired Architectural Firm and has provided a proposal that
16 meets all specifications of the Architects;and,
17 WHEREAS,the total contract amount for the renovations to the Dunbar Community Center shall not
18 exceed One Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars($160,000.00).
19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Carson
22 & Associates, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($160,000.00), for the
23 replacement of a portion of the roof at Dunbar Community Center.
24 Section 2. Funds are available with American Rescue Plan Act Funds, TREA Dunbar Community
25 Center, Account No. 271459-G0222AR45C.
26 Section 3. Severabilily. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
