HomeMy WebLinkAbout16339 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,339 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO CREATE THE FRIENDS OF MOSAIC CULTURAL 4 CENTER TEMPORARY ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT, FOR ONE (1) 5 DAY ON JUNE 15, 2024; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 6 7 WHEREAS, on July 23, 2019, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed 8 Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 21,761, as amended, which permitted the creation of a Temporary 9 Entertainment District pursuant to Arkansas State Law and City Ordinance; and, 10 WHEREAS,the City Board of Directors has determined the creation of a Temporary Entertainment 11 District as proposed by Ordinance No. 21,761 as amended is appropriate as recommended by the Planning 12 & Development Department. 13 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS. 15 Section 1.The Friends of Mosaic Cultural Center Entertainment District is hereby created by the City 16 of Little Rock as a Temporary Entertainment District on June 15, 2024, and subject to Ordinance No. 17 21,761,as amended, and its defined terms. 18 Section 2. Boundaries. The temporary boundaries of the Friends of the Mosaic Cultural Center 19 Entertainment District run along 9'I' Street, from Broadway Street to State Street,to encompass Arch Street 20 &Gaines Street. There will be physical barriers located at State Street and the Interstate 30 Accessway,9''' 21 Street& State Street, 8th Street&Gaines Street and South Arch Street. A musical stage will be positioned 22 on 9'h Street and Arch Street, leaving the Interstate 30 Accessway free for through traffic. 23 Section 3. Timeframe. The Friends of the Mosaic Cultural Center Temporary Entertainment District 24 shall be designated as a Temporary Entertainment District upon the adoption of this resolution and shall be 25 on June 15, 2024, from 11:00 AM —6:00 PM, and will expire at 7:00 PM. The City reserves the right to 26 amend boundaries and hours of operation at its sole discretion. 27 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 5. Repealer.
