GENERAL NOTES
A. Foundation design criteria has been formulated based on modifica-
tions of recommendations set forth in criteria for the selection
and desr en of residential slab -on -grade (BRAB HCYOR'1) and recor.-
•nized engineering practices.
B. Coordinate structural plans with architectural and mechanical
plane for all black -outs, inserts and related items.
C. Contractor shall verify all dimensions and conditions in the field
before work commences, and notify engineer of any discrepencies.
D. Strand, anchors and accessories shall be installed in accordance
with installation instructions provided by materials supplier.
E. Concrete shall be well consolidated, especially in the vicinity
of strand anchors.
F. Fill under slabs shall be placed in accordance with FIiA data sheet
79G and/or the soils engineers specifications. The soils engineer
shall certify the fill.
G. Construction, contraction or expansion joints, when required, do
not penetrate transverse beams or exceed 4" penetration into
longitudinal beams.
11. MATERIALS....._.
1. A 4" sand cushion shall be required under 44A615
2. A vapor barrier shall be placed under slabst6 mil
3. All concrete design is in accordance with A.C.E. 318-77.
Concrete shall attain a minimum 28 day compressive strength of
3000 PST as determined by ASTM C-39 or a minimum 28 day
flexural strength of 350 PSI as determined by ASTM C-78.
Concrete shall have a maximum of 5" slump.
4. All post tensioning steel shall consist of seven wire stress
relieved strand, conforming to ASTM A-416 and shall be 270 KSI.
Strand shall be coated with a permanent rust preventative lub-
ricant and wrapped with a plastic sheath_ If strand sheath-
ing is damaged or removed, it must be repaired by [aping. A
maximum of 6" exposed strand permitted at anchor,

minimum soil cover of 16"•

K. Vapor Barrier net to be placed in beam bottoms until they have i�er,
cleaned and inspected just prier to placing concrete.
L. Place 3#3 cost. in all curb sections and all walk ways where used as
curbs.
M. Prior to placement of any fill, natural ground to be treated and compacts:I.
N. Areas under all buildings to be undercut and minimum of 2 feet and
recompaeted with blended material with a maximum liquid limit of40.
0. Compaction shall be accomplished with the moisture content ranging from
Optimum to s2X. Compaction will not be permitted with M.C. below
Optimum.
P. A11 borrlw ,1ia[:w-v1.11 shall have a max. Liquid Limit of 40.
