STAFF RECOMMENDATION
In response to questions raised at the Subdivision Committee
meeting, the staff has developed the following recommendation to
which the Committee will respond at the Commission meeting.
The staff recommends approval as follows:
1. Close East 16th Street adjacent on the south as it
apparently no longer serves as access to any
property.
2. Maintain a 25 foot setback from the north and south
property lines.
3. If a site plan reflects parking adjacent to Security
Street, retain the 25 foot setback.
4. No setback is necessary on the west side.
5. Require full boundary street improvements on
15th Street and on Security Street.
6. The Master Street Plan indicates the proposed
"East-West Freeway" extension within about a
block to the north. The appropriate agency
should be notified to assure that there is
no conflict with a more specific alignment.
COMMISSION ACTION
Mr. Allan Curry, Engineer, and Mr. Martin Borchert were present
to represent the application. They took exception to the
recommendation of street improvements on Security Street.
Following further discussion, a motion to adopt the Staff
Recommendation failed by a vote of 2 ayes, 6 noes. A second
motion to approve the plat as recommended by the staff was made
concerning the elimination of improvements to Security Street.
This motion passed by a vote of 6 ayes, 2 noes.
