To: Commissioner Mr. Lance Hines, Mr. Jamie Collins Director of the Little Rock Planning Staff, The Little Rock Board of Directors and Little Rock Planning Commission: I have been shown the real estate development called Cantrell West located at 15122 and 15200 Cantrell Road by Mr. John Rees and he has explained and shown me his design, construction and zoning uses for this development. I like the idea that he has a plan to bring more quality office and retail development to the Cantrell corridor. There hasn't been hardly anything built out on this roadway for many years and with the addition of the two large banking office buildings there needs to be more restaurant space and retail space for the citizens. I would like to ask the Board of Directors, Planning Commission, Lance Hines and Mr. Jamie Collins with the Planning Staff to approve of this zoning request to all Mr. Rees to proceed with this development early next year. After talking to Mr. Rees and reviewing a rendering of the proposed building and a site plan showing the two buildings along with the parking and proposed zoning uses of 0-1, 0-2 and 0-3 Permitted and Conditional uses and C-1 Permitted and Conditional Uses I would like to agree to fully support Mr. Rees' new development for Cantrell West Shopping Center. We understand that this area of town with Cantrell Road being as heavily traveled as the Cantrell corridor needs some additional commercial/office development and in my opinion this development will be a great addition for the citizens of west Little Rock and the services that they require. Therefore, we the undersigned want to express our full support and endorsement for the proposed development by Rees Commercial and ask that both the Planning Commission and the Board of Directors along with Mr. Lance Hines support this change in zoning in order to allow Mr. Rees to start this development at his earliest convenience next year. I am the owner of the property adjacent to the property Rees Commercial, Inc. has purchased that is just east of Rummel Road and runs to the property owned by Taziki's restaurant. I want to express my strong support for this development. We need shops and restaurants out on that busy corridor called Cantrell Road. There are very few eating places with drive -through services in this area, and we need more commercial developments here. I totally support this development because of the needs of the citizens, and I know the city needs the tax revenue. Please support commercial development on Highway 10 or Cantrell Road.
