Morning Hannah,
Can I email you my application, or do I need to print it out and drop it off?

Thank you Hannah. I’m waiting for my roofer to drop shingle samples by next week. Then I should have
what I need for the application. They will likely need to replace some decking on the roof, but there will
be no changes to the roofline.
I have them also quoting replacement of some wood decorative brackets supporting my gutters
because of wood rot. They’re not all water damaged and any bracket replaced will be shaped identical
to what’s existing. I can submit photos of what they look like with the application. New pieces will be cut
to match when work is being done.
Cheers,
Heather Nelson

Thank you for contacting staff regarding your home at 1311 Cumberland. To summarize some basic
information about the MacArthur Park Local Ordinance District and the Little Rock Historic District
Commission:
The property at 1311 Cumberland is within the MacArthur Park Local Ordinance Historic District. The
goal of the local ordinance historic district is to protect and preserve the unique and valued qualities of
such an area, its urban design, architectural character, and historic materials in buildings and in
landscapes. A property owner in this district is subject to the rules and regulations as set forth by the
City of Little Rock ordinances, Municipal Code Chapter 23, Sec. 76-160, that is based on Arkansas
State law. Any exterior renovation of structures, additions, fencing, or other site features need to be
either administratively approved by staff or reviewed by the Little Rock Historic District Commission at
their regularly monthly public meetings.
The replacement of asphalt shingles for architectural shingles on residential structures can be
administratively reviewed by staff and does not require a public hearing. Is this the full scope of your
proposed work or will any other alterations be made to the structure during the reroof?
You will need to complete and submit the following documentation: Page 5 of the Certificate of
Appropriateness application packet, photographs of the structure, list of materials, and proof of
ownership. Please see more information on each requested submittal on pages 1 and 2 of the
application packet.
