3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH ALESSI KEYES CONSTRUCTION, IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION, TWENTY-TWO
6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,022,000.00),TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION
7 SERVICES FOR THE KOMODO DRAGON HABITAT AT THE LITTLE
8 ROCK ZOO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo ("Zoo") requests a contract with Alessi Keyes Construction to
11 construct the Komodo Dragon Habitat;and,
12 WHEREAS, after a competitive bidding process, Bid No. 2410 for the Little Rock Zoo Habitat
13 Construction Project, it was determined that out of the five (5) responsive bids received, Alessi Keyes
14 Construction provided the lowest,most responsible bid;and,
15 WHEREAS,the total cost of the project will not exceed One Million,Twenty-Two Thousand Dollars
16 ($1,022,000.00),which includes a 12%contingency amount;and,
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
18 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Alessi
20 Keyes Construction, in an amount not to exceed One Million, Twenty-Two Thousand Dollars
21 ($1,022,000.00), which includes a 12% contingency amount, to construct the Komodo Dragon Habitat at
22 the Little Rock Zoo.
23 Section 2. Funding is allocated in the Zoo Upgrades Special Project Fund, Account No. 326659-
24 TS65A32, utilizing funds from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
27 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution,which shall remain in full force and effect
28 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso-
29 lution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
