Dear Mr. Collins:
Our law firm represents Meramec Specialty Company of West Memphis,
Arkansas. Meramac has a lease of property on Highway 10 just outside the city limits of
Little Rock but in the city's extraterritorial zoning jurisdiction. As the lease indicates the
purpose is to set up a location for the seasonal and temporary sale of fireworks. The
signed lease as well as the survey and site plan are attached to our Application to Rezone
the site.
Meramac proposes to place a tent and other temporary amenities on the site,
including parking for 44 vehicles, and an RV to house the caretaker. The set up will be
June 10, 2024, and will be removed by July 10, 2024. Sale of fireworks will occur between
June 10, 2024, through July 5, 2024. Hours of operation will be between 8:00 a.m. to
10:00 p.m. June 10 to July 2, 2024, and July 5, 2024, and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight
July 3rd and July 4th, 2024.
The manager of the sale of fireworks will be Mrs. Kim Carmack, an experienced
school teacher and fireworks sales manager for Meramac at several locations. She
employs high school students to help with the fireworks sales during the season.
