HomeMy WebLinkAbout12336I 2 RESOLUTION NO. 12,336 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO A TOWING SERVICE CONTRACT WITH EACH 5 COMPANY THAT RESPONDED SUCCESSFULLY TO THE 6 CITY'S REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 1 9 WHEREAS, the City has elected to use a rotation basis for contract wrecker 10 service, and 11 WHEREAS, after a competitive selection process, three companies have been 12 deemed to be responsible and responsive bidders. 13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 14 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 15 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into towing service contracts 16 with: 17 (A) Metro Towing & Recovery, Inc. of Little Rock, Arkansas; 18 (B) Routh Wrecker Service, Inc. of Little Rock, Arkansas; and 19 (C) Asher Wrecker Service, Inc. of Little Rock, Arkansas. 20 Section 2. The term of these towing service contracts shall be from 12:01 AM, 21 October 1, 2006 to 12:00 Midnight, September 30, 2007. The term may be extended one 22 time for an additional one -year term if mutually agreed to in writing by the City and 23 each of the towing service contractors no less than ninety (90) days in advance of the 24 expiration of the initial term. The terms and conditions of these towing service contracts shall be 2 consistent with the bid specifications, and the agreements shall be in a form acceptable 3 to the City Attorney in order to ensure that the City's interests are met. 4 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, 5 sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid 6 or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining 7 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so 8 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 9 resolution. 10 Section 5. Replealer.
