3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., RESOLUTION NO.
4 15,847 (DECEMBER 20, 2022), TO REVISE THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE
5 DEPARTMENT CAPITAL NEEDS FUNDING IN THE INTENDED USES
6 OF THE SECOND TRANCHE OF THE AMERCIAN RESCUE PLAN ACT
7 FUNDING; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,in Little Rock Ark., Resolution No. 15,847(December 20,2022),the Board of Directors
10 approved the intended uses of the second tranche portion of the American Rescue Plan Act(ARPA),which
11 was signed into law on March 11, 2021, to provide Fiscal Relief Funds to State and Local Governments
12 and other program areas aimed at mitigating the continuing effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic;and,
13 WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 15,847, the Board of Directors approved Two Million, One Hundred
14 Thousand Dollars(2,100,000.00)to fund a new station,with a residential look and feel,in West Little Rock
15 and an updated apparatus bay at Station No. 16; and,
16 WHEREAS,due to the additional cost of the new West Little Rock Fire Station,no funds are available
17 for the updated apparatus bay.
18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. It is the intent of the Board of Directors that funds from the second tranche of ARPA Funds
21 be prioritized and expended as set forth in Resolution No. 15,847, except Section 3., Subsection a, of
22 Resolution 15,857 shall be amended to read as follows:
23 a) Little Rock Fire Department Capital Needs: Including a new station, with a residential look and
24 feel, in West Little Rock: estimated at Two Million, One Hundred Thousand Dollars
25 ($2,100,000.00).
26 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of Little Rock, Ark., Resolution 15,847 (December 20, 2022), as amended, are hereby
33 repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
