3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., RESOLUTION NO.
4 15,897 (FEBRUARY 21, 2023), TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER
5 TO EXTEND THE ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH GOODYEAR TIRE &
6 RUBBER COMPANY AND LOONEY'S TIRE CENTER, INC., FOR AN
7 ANNUAL PURCHASE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINE HUNDRED
8 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($900,000.00), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND
9 FEES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF COMMERCIAL TIRES FOR THE
10 FLEET SERVICES DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS, Fleet Services Department has a need to be equipped with optimal performance
13 replacement tires for vehicles currently in the City's Fleet;and,
14 WHEREAS, Vendor selection was made through the Arkansas State Contract No. 19-19-0081, and
15 both vendors are on the State Contract; and,
16 WHEREAS,no one vendor is authorized to sell all brands;therefore,two(2)vendors must be selected
17 in order to access all tire brands that are utilized by the City;and,
18 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,897 (February 21, 2023), authorized an annual
19 contract with Goodyear Tire& Rubber Company and Looney's Tire Center, Inc.,for one(1)-year,with an
20 option to renew for up to two(2)additional one(1)-year terms.
21 WHEREAS, the annual budget for each one (1)-year term is not to exceed Nine Hundred Thousand
22 Dollars($900,000.00), plus applicable taxes and fees;and,
23 WHEREAS,this renewal represents year two(2)of a protentional three(3)-year term.
24 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
26 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a one (1)-year
27 contract extension with Mid-South Vermeer, in an annual budget amount not to exceed Nine Hundred
28 Thousand Dollars($900,000.00), plus applicable taxes and fees,to provide Commercial Tires for the Fleet
29 Services Department.
30 Section 2. Funding for the contract extension is available in Fleet Parts, Account No. 600013-60310.
31 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
32 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and

I effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
2 resolution.
3 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions, including,but not limited to Little Rock,Ark.,
4 Resolution No. 15,897 (February 21, 2023), or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions
5 of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
