GENERAL GRADING NOTES
THE CONTRACTOR IS SPECIFICALLY CAUTIONED THAT THE LOCATION
AND/OR ELEVATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES AS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS
IS BASED ON RECORDS OF THE VARIOUS UTILITY COMPANIES, AND
WHERE POSSIBLE, MEASUREMENTS TAKEN IN THE FIELD. THE
INFORMATION IS NOT TO BE RELIED ON AS BEING EXACT OR COMPLETE.
THE CONTRACTOR MUST CALL THE APPROPRIATE UTILITY COMPANIES AT
LEAST 72 BEFORE ANY EXCAVATION TO REQUEST EXACT FIELD LOCATION
OF UTILITIES. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO
RELOCATE ALL EXISTING UTILITIES WHICH CONFLICT WITH THE PROPOSED
IMPROVEMENTS SHOWN ON THIS PLAN.
2. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESIGN AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL SHEETING, SHORING, BRACING, AND SPECIAL
EXCAVATION MEASURES REQUIRED TO MEET O.S.H.A., FEDERAL, STATE,
AND LOCAL REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO THE INSTALLATION OF ALL
WORK INDICATED ON THESE DRAWINGS. THE OWNER AND ENGINEER
ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DESIGNS TO INSTALL SAID ITEMS.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL ORGANIC LADEN TOPSOIL AND
UNSUITABLE MATERIALS, INCLUDING REMNANTS OF PAST CONSTRUCTION,
DEBRIS, SURFACE VEGETATION, ROOTS AND ANY UNSUITABLE SURFACE
SOILS. TAP ROOTS AND STUMPS ARE TO BE COMPLETELY REMOVED.
4. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PERFORM ANY DEWATERING
NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT THE PROJECT AS SHOWN ON THESE
DRAWINGS.
