GENERAL NOTES:
1. CAUTION: UNDERGROUND UTILITIES LIE WITHIN AND ADJACENT TO THE LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION.
AN ATTEMPT HAS BEEN MADE TO LOCATE THESE UTILITIES ON THE PLANS; HOWEVER ALL
EXISTING UTILITIES MAY NOT BE SHOWN AND THE ACTUAL LOCATIONS OF THE UTILITIES MAY
VARY FROM LOCATIONS SHOWN. PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY TYPE OF EXCAVATION, THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE UTILITIES INVOLVED AND MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE
LOCATION OF THE UTILITIES ON THE GROUND. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE UTILITY

BEFORE EXCAVATING USING MECHANIZED EQUIPMENT OR EXPLOSIVES (EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF
AN EMERGENCY). THE ONE -CALL SYSTEM TELEPHONE NUMBER IS 1-800-482-8998 THE
CONTRACTOR IS ADVISED THAT THERE IS A SEVERE PENALTY FOR NOT MAKING THIS CALL. NOT
ALL UTILITY COMPANIES ARE MEMBERS OF THE ARKANSAS ONE -CALL SYSTEM: THE CONTRACTOR
IS ADVISED TO CONTACT ALL NON-MEMBER UTILITIES AS WELL AS THE ONE -CALL SYSTEM.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL PLANS FOR EXACT LOCATIONS AND DIMENSIONS
OF VESTIBULES, SLOPE PAVING, SIDEWALKS, EXIT PORCHES, TRUCK DOCKS, PRECISE
BUILDING DIMENSIONS AND EXACT UTILITY ENTRANCE LOCATIONS.
4. DIMENSIONS GIVEN ARE TO THE BACK OF CURB, CENTER OF PARKING STRIPE, FACE OF BUILDING,
EDGE OF PAVEMENT, FRONT FACE OF INLETS, OR THE PROPERTY LINE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED..
5. ALL SIGNAGE, PAVEMENT MARKINGS, AND PARKING LOT STRIPING SHALL CONFORM TO REQUIREMENTS
GIVEN IN THE MANUAL OF UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES (MUTCD).
6. ALL WORK AND MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL CITY/COUNTY/STATE/FEDERAL REGULATIONS
AND CODES AND OSHA STANDARDS.
7. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS.
8. ALL CURB/SIDEWALK/HANDICAP RAMP DESIGNS SHALL CONFORM TO ADA STANDARDS OR LOCAL
RESTRICTIVE CODES, WHICHEVER IS MORE RESTRICTIVE.
9. CONTRACTOR TO FIELD VERIFY ALL SURVEY INFORMATION BEFORE CONSTRUCTION.
10. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO EXISTING STRUCTURES I PAVEMENTS; AND-UTILITIES-----
11. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL REQUIRED PERMITS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROJECT.
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH THE LATEST STANDARDS OF OSHA FOR EXCAVATION AND
TRENCHING PROCEDURES.
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE INSPECTION OF UTILITY AND PAVEMENT CONSTRUCTION
WITH THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES PRIOR TO COVERING TRENCHES OR PAVING OPERATIONS.
14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT ALL REQUIRED TESTS TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE APPROPRIATE
AUTHORITIES.
15. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY THE HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL LOCATIONS OF ALL UTILITIES
BEFORE CONSTRUCTION. IMMEDIATELY REPORT CONFLICTS TO THE ENGINEER.
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL RELOCATE UTILITIES ALONG CHENAL PARKWAY AS NEEDED. COORINATE WITH
LOCAL UTILITY COMPANIES.
17. CONTRACTOR SHALL MATCH PROPOSED CURB AND GUTTER, CONCRETE, AND PAVEMENT TO EXISTING
IN GRADE AND ALIGNMENT.
18. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING PARKING, SIDEWALKS, DRIVES, ETC. CLEAR AND FREE
FROM ANY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY AND/OR MATERIAL TO ENSURE EASY AND SAFE PEDESTRIAN
AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC TO AND FROM THE SITE.
19. CONTACT PUBLIC WORKS AT (501) 918-5217 FOR INSPECTIONS OF ANY WORK IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-
WAY PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF CONCRETE OR ASPHALT OR FOR ON -SITE CLARIFICATION OF REQUIREMENTS
