HomeMy WebLinkAboutCover Letter 071023To Whom It May Concern; I, Jonda White, want to turn my property on Chicot Road into a halfway house facility for women. Second Chances Home for Women (SCHW) will provide structured support and resources to individuals in recovery from substance abuse and other related issues. Second Chances Home for Women aims to provide a safe and sober environment for women to continue their recovery journey and transition back into society. There is a high need for halfway houses for women. Not just for the facilities but for the women too. Some women need a second chance to become more productive in their lives and society. Second Chances Home for Women can provide a supportive and understanding environment where women can address similar issues and work towards recovery. A halfway house for women in recovery can provide many benefits including: A structured environment: SCHW will have set rules and routines that give residents a sense of structure and stability. This can be especially beneficial for women in the early recovery process who may struggle to establish healthy habits and routines. • Supportive community: Living with other women in recovery can provide a sense of comradery and support. Residents can share their experiences. • Access to resources: SCHW will have connections to local treatment centers, therapists, and other resources to help residents continue their recovery journey. • Independence: Halfway homes provide a safe and sober living environment and allow residents to practice living independently. Residents at SCHW will be responsible for cooking, cleaning, and other household chores, which will help them prepare for life outside of a treatment center. By living in a halfway house, women can learn to navigate real -world challenges and develop the skills they need to maintain sobriety once they leave. SWHW wants to help women get that second chance. Our Mission and Vision Our vision is to become the number one choice when it comes to halfway home facilities in Little Rock and to grow to be among the top halfway home facilities in the U.S.A within the next 10 years. Our mission is to build a halfway house facility that will meet and surpass the need of all the residents of the facility so they will become good citizens in society.
