Back on June 26, 2006 myself and Larry Morton with Sonic met with the John Barrow Road and the Brownwood Terrace Neighborhood Association. The Second baptist church was invited to this meeting but did not attend. A member of the church, Dorris Jones -White, a member of the church did attend the neighborhood meeting and received copies of the Sonic site plan for the church to view and comment if needed. Per the requirement of the planning department, the notice of the rezoning was mailed and received by the church, but per Pastor Kelley it was not opened at the time of receipt but at a later date. As of yesterday, I have made numerous attempts to contact with telephone messages left at his office and what I believe was his home without response. Today I made an attempt to contact Pastor Kelley and was sucessful. His main concern was that there was no contact made with himself and his church. In conversation with him I told him I would forward site and grading plans to him which was done within 40 minutes of our conversation. The offer of a meeting was made prior to the meeting tomorrow. No response although this was made of Pastor Kelley. A number of phone calls have been made leaving messages with pastor Kelley, conversations with the receptionist and his assistant took place in an effort to contact him. My concer is in regard to the meeting tomorrow night. As opperninities have been given (neighborhood meeting, site plans sent to the church, the certified mailing and as of late the phone calls and plans sent via e-mail) of there is no response received by Pastor Kelley in time to discuss the situation prior to the meeting will this hinder approval at the meeting? As we would like to be sensitive to the needs of the neighbors I am concerned that this situation may harm the approval even though attemps were made to affress the situation.
