Sent:Friday, December 8, 2023 11:30 AM To:'Bryan Hosto' Subject:RE: Application- 305 E. 7th Street Attachments:HDC2023-032 COC signed.pdf Thank you Bryan, I appreciate you addressing all of this informaƟon. I’ve received your proof of ownership. Please see aƩached approved and signed copy of the CerƟficate of Appropriateness for your project at 307 E 7th Street. The original COC will be mailed to the owner’s mailing address. You may post the COC on the property or have your contractor have it on hand to present to code enforcement to avoid future issues regarding this scope of work. The COC does not approve work regarding the stone sidewalk. Could you provide more detailed photos of the exis Ɵng stones? Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. The project descripƟon and condiƟons listed on the form you sent are accurate as to the scope of work. The exisƟng glazing puƩy will be removed completely and new puƩy will be applied. Care will be taken on pair of the box guƩers. All wood that is replaced will be similar in dimension, size, shape and profile. The contractor on that part is CertaPro. Their scope of work also included repair/replacement of the laƫce on the rear porches. That is the complete scope of their work. As to your other quesƟons and future work- No re-roofing or AC window unit removal is planned. We don’t intend to address the exisƟng front steps other than to lightly power wash. There is an area between the sets of steps that we intend to address, most likely with flat rocks similar to the ones that are already there you can see in the picture. We most likely will have our own maintenance guys do that. A good emphasis will be placed on aestheƟcs, and of course, safety. 2 I will send you our deed or other proof of ownership presently. Thanks for your help, and if there is anything else you require, please let me know. Please provide proof of ownership (examples of valid forms provided in applicaƟon instrucƟons) and a descripƟon and methodology of your scope of work, or confirmaƟon of. The methodological quesƟons I have mainly concern that any exisƟng wood siding, soffit, fascia, and other elements are repaired properly and if replacement of damaged sec Ɵons is necessary that the elements are replaced with wood elements of the same dimension, design, shape, and profile. The same principles are applied to wood window elements with the goal of repairing them to opera Ɵng state. Equally, all exisƟng glazing puƩy should be removed thoroughly before new puƩy is applied. The structure does have box guƩers and care is required in repair since they are built into the eaves of the house. I’ve aƩached a draŌ CerƟficate of Compliance for your scope of work. Please review this draŌ and confirm if the COC reflects the full scope of your project. Once confirmed, I will sign and send a copy back to you for your records. Will there be any repair work to the laƫcing on the enclosed rear porches, work to remove the exisƟng A/C window units, reroofing, repair to the front yard steps? Just want to include anything you might be working on in the near future if you’d like to have it reviewed now rather than later. Lastly, what is the name of the contracting business doing the work? I verified that they intend to only take guƩers down in order to paint, and then they will put the right back up. AƩached is the completed applicaƟon. I also have some pictures that I will send to you in the next email. Please let me know what else I can do, and when work can be resumed. Thank you! Bryan Hosto
