3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH LANDSCAPE STRUCTURES, INC., FOR A
5 TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND
6 DOLLARS ($200,000.00), FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CUSTOM
7 PLAYGROUND AT KIWANIS PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the Parks& Recreation Department Staff has identified the need for a new playground at
10 Kiwanis Park,to replace the one that was previously removed due to age; and,
11 WHEREAS,citizens in the Kiwanis Park Neighborhood and the surrounding area have supported this
12 project for many years and are excited to see improvements be made to Kiwanis Park; and,
13 WHEREAS,the new playground in Kiwanis Park will meet new accessible standards for the Depart-
14 ment and provide an excellent new recreational value to the park; and,
15 WHEREAS,the project was quoted utilizing Sourcewell Agreement Cooperative Purchasing Program
16 No. 010521-LSI, for a total contract amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00), to
17 Landscape Structures Inc., for the construction of a custom playground at Kiwanis Park.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Landscape Structures, Inc.,
21 in an amount not to exceed a total cost of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) for the
22 construction and installation of a new playground located in Kiwanis Park.
23 Section 2. Funds are available from the Limited Tax General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds,
24 Kiwanis Park, Account No. 332459-B45D010.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
27 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect
28 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso-
29 lution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
