3 A RESOLUTION TO REPEAL RESOLUTION NO. 16,122 (OCTOBER 2,
4 2023), THAT AUTHORIZED THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
5 CONTRACT WITH CASCO INDUSTRIES, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT
6 TO EXCEED FIFTY-SIX THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED FIFTY
7 DOLLARS ($56,250.00), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR
8 THE PURCHASE OF A DRAEGER X-AM 280 GAS MONITOR FOR THE
9 LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT HAZMAT TEAM; AND FOR
10 OTHER PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Fire Department Hazmat Team has determined that it is need of a Draeger
13 X-AM 2800 Gas Monitor; and,
14 WHEREAS,this device is critical in detecting combustible gas vapors and other chemicals; and,
15 WHEREAS, Bid No. 2182-0 was issued and Casco Industries, Inc., was reported as the lowest,
16 responsive,responsible bid meeting specifications with a bid not exceed Fifty-Six Thousand,Two Hundred
17 Fifty Dollars($56,250.00), plus applicable taxes and fees; and,
18 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors adopted Resolution No. 16,122 (October 2, 2023) to authorize a
19 contract for the purchase of a Draeger X-AM 2800 Gas Monitor for the Little Rock Fire Department Hazmat
20 Team; however, the City was not able to enter into a contract with Casco Industries, Inc., due to the fact
21 that Northside Sales Company was the lowest, most qualified bidder with a total bid amount of Fifty-Four
22 Thousand, Eight Hundred Ninety-Four and 86/100 Dollars($54,894.86).
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
25 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby repeal Resolution No. 16,122 in its entirety that authorized
26 the City Manager to enter into a contract with Casco Industries, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Six
27 Thousand, Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($56,250.00), plus applicable taxes and fees, for the purchase of a
28 Draeger X-AM 2800 Gas Monitor for the Little Rock Fire Department Hazmat Team.
29 Section 2. Funds for this expenditure are available in Special Project ACT 833, Account No.210519-
30 S00B50.
31 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
32 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and

1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
2 resolution.
3 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
4 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
