3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH OAKLEY FERTILIZER,INC.,IN AN AMOUNT
5 NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS
6 ($300,000.00), FOR THE PURCHASE OF ROCK SALT IN BULK FOR THE
7 PUBLIC WORKS STREET OPERATIONS DIVISION; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Public Works Street Operations Division utilizes bulk De-Icing Rock Salt during
11 adverse winter weather to remove snow and ice from the roadways;and,
12 WHEREAS, Oakley Fertilizer, Inc., has submitted prices in response to Arkansas Department of
13 Transportation(ArDOT)Bid Contract No. H-24-204H, being One Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars($195.00)
14 per ton for Beet Juice Pre-Treated Rock Salt, One Hundred Sixty-Two Dollars ($162.00) per ton for
15 Untreated Rock Salt and Three Hundred Dollars($300.00)for bagged Untreated Rock Salt per ton.
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
19 Oakley Fertilizer,Inc.,for the purchase of Rock Salt in bulk for the Public Works Street Operations Division
20 at a cost of One Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars($195.00) per ton for Beet Juice Pre-Treated Rock Salt,One
21 Hundred Sixty-Two Dollars ($162.00) per ton for Untreated Rock Salt and Three Hundred Dollars
22 ($300.00) per ton for bagged Untreated Rock Salt, in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand
23 Dollars($300,000.00), for a period of one(1)-year, with an additional one(1)-year extension, if so agreed
24 to by both parties, to be utilized during adverse winter weather events to remove snow and ice from the
25 roadways.
26 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in Streets & Drainage Maintenance, Account No.
27 204003-61020.
28 Section 3. Severabilili•. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
32 resolution.
33 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
34 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
