DATE: June 2, 2005
Placement of the portable classroom buildings described in the attached application is
approved subject to compliance with the following conditions:
■ Doorways should be oriented toward the school building.
■ Assure any new lighting is directed downward and into the school site.
• Comply with any spacing requirements of the Fire Department or Building Codes
Life Safety.
■ Comply with building, plumbing and electrical codes as required.
• All structures must be skirted and tied down.
= Provide hard surface walkway from each building to paved parking lot or to
connecting sidewalks.
■ Paint or improve the structures to be as compatible with the school building as
possible.
■ Placement of the building is approved until July 19, 2009 as per the sunset
provision established in Section 36-203 of the Code of Ordinances.
■ A setback of at least 25 feet must be maintained from all property lines.

Dear Dana:
I am writing this letter in support of portable relocations for School Year 2005-2006 in
Little Rock School District.
Recently, we received permission from your office to relocate portables to Mabelvale
Elementary School. This was based on our anticipated move of the children from
Cloverdale Elementary School to that location. , The District has since found another
alternative that is far more operationally palatable to us. This will allow us to remove the
portables that we recently placed at Mabelvale Elementary School. Some will be
relocated, some sold, and some put in storage.
Five of the doublewide portables at Mabelvale will be moved as follows:
Fulbright Elementary School: one portable
Terry Elementary School: two portables
Otter Creek Elementary School: two portables.
Of the remaining four portables at Mabelvale Elementary School, two- will be sold and
two will be placed in storage on Little Rock School District property at another site.
One portable at Fair Park Elementary School will be moved to Woodruff Elementary
School.
Relocation of these portables is needed because of anticipated increases in enrollment at
these schools.
We will be forwarding to your office the necessary requests for permits to relocate those
