Topsoil: Provide imported topsoil free of weeds and debris for back filling beds and installing sod. 5. Soil mix: Excavate beds to remove weeds, grass, construction debris greater than one inch in diameter and to allow for addition of soil mix and final grading. Install top soil in beds. Mix with remaining existing soil and rake thoroughly to remove roots, rocks, and all other debris. Add three (3) inches of organic soil amendments (compost, manure, garden mix, etc.), time release fertilizer (Osmocote or similar) in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, and till thoroughly. 6. Sodding: Remove all existing grass, rocks, roots, and construction debris from area to be sodded. 2 Excavate, add 3" topsoil and, fine grade to drain in accordance with site grading plan. Install sod to match adjacent surfaces. Trim grass edges to a smooth line. Irrigate sufficiently to establish sod. 7. Drainage: Grade all bed areas to provide positive drainage away from building and toward walks, drainage channels, or lawn. Fine grade all landscape beds to create a finished slope of 6:1 from bed edge to center of bed (not to exceed 1 foot in height) and from building to drainage channel. Do not place soil within 3" of wall vent or finish floor elevation. 8. Irrigation system: Landscape contractor shall install irrigation system in accordance with approved plans. Install dual 4" PVC pipe sleeving material under pavements as shown on plans. Glue pipe segments and cap sleeves with PVC caps. Do not glue PVC caps on top sleevs. Extend sleeves 2 feet beyond back of curb or pavement edge. Mark the location for future reference. IRRIGATION SLEEVES SHALL BE INSTALLED BY PAVEMENT CONTRACTOR. Irrigation controller to be located as shown on irrigation plans. Coordinate location of irrigation meter, _. irrigation controls, and RPA backflow assembly with General Contractor. General contractor shall Provide irrigation meter of specified size and electrical connection for irrigation controller. 9. Steel edging: Provide and install 4" Ryerson brand steel edging or locally manufactured 4" x 5132" steel edging material. Provide stakes or hooks as needed to firmly set edging material. Set edging height at 1" above lawn. 10. Mulch: Install shredded hardwood bark mulch 3" deep in all planting beds. Rake or hand level mulch for a smooth (not lumpy) finish. Spray with water to set mulch in place. 11 .
