Portable Buildings for Temporary Classrooms
Dear Mr. Smith:
The following items are conditions of these permits:
Building Codes
November 30, 1999
1. The projects have been reviewed as Educational occupancy, type VI, unprotected
construction and not sprinkled.
2. The footings, piers and tie downs will be installed as noted on the typical detail.
3. Electrical permits and inspections will be obtained.
4. Guardrails must be 42 inches. Maximum riser height is 73/4 inches minimum tread
depth is 11 inches.
5. When a class is offered in the temporary building that is not offered in an accessible
area, ramps for wheelchair access must be provided.
6. Underpinning will be provided and crawl space ventilation will be installed.
7. No plumbing work was indicated.
8. The permit fee is $93.25, the review fee is $30.00, and the data fee is $2.00, for a total of
$125.30. A State Education surcharge of $12.50, is required in addition to the City Fees.
Zoning and Subdivision Remarks:
1. Provide ramps and sidewalk tie to existing sidewalk.
2. Orient doors to sidewalk on the east.
3. Assure proper lighting.
4. Comply with tie down and skirt requirements.
5. Keep 10 ft building separation.
6. Ensure that no student parking is impacted.

The following items need to be addressed before a permit will be issued for this project:
Building Codes
1. This project has been reviewed as Educational occupancy, type VI, unprotected
construction and not sprinkled.
2. Submit information on the footings, blocking and tie downs proposed for the structures.
3. Submit information on the accessible ramps, landings, stairs, guardrails and handrails for
the proposed structures.
4. Qualify if any of the structures will be provided with plumbing facilities.
5. Electrical permits and inspections are required.
6. Exit lights are required as per Section 1016.3.
7. The structures must be underpinned and provided with crawl space ventilation.
8. The permit fee is $120.75, the review fee is $30.19, and the data fee is $2.00, for a total
of $152.94.
Zoning and Subdivision Remarks:
1. Ramps and sidewalk ties to the existing buildings are required.
2. Orient doors east.
3. Assure proper lighting.
4. Show make up of lost parking spaces.

PORTABLE CLASSROOMS BY THE LITTLE ROCK
SCHOOL DISTRICT
To All Neighborhood Associations adjacent to the Hall High School Campus at "H" Street and
North Hughes.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT a request has been filed by the Little Rock School District, to
extend for a third five year period, permission to utilize portable classrooms on school properties.
There are currently fifty-three (53) portables in use at various school sites throughout the city. The
right to use the structures as currently occupied expires July 19, 1999. In order to avoid a public
hearing on each structure as it is moved in or out the City Board must authorize continuance of the
current staff review process.
The hearing will be held in the Board of Directors Chambers at Little Rock City Hall, June 1, 1999
at 6:00 p.m. Interested parties are invited to attend the meeting and express their views or provide
them to the Planning Staff prior to the meeting.
