HomeMy WebLinkAbout22314 1 ORDINANCE NO. 22,314 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 21,862 (JULY 23, 2019), 4 TO EXTEND THE BOUNDARIES OF THE PERMANENT RIVER 5 MARKET ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT PURSUANT TO THE 6 ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT ORDINANCE; AND FOR OTHER 7 PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, on July 23, 2019, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed 10. Ordinance No.21,761 which permitted the creation of an Entertainment District pursuant to Arkansas State 11 Law and City ordinance; and, 12 WHEREAS, on July 23, 2019, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed 13 Ordinance No. 21,862, to simultaneously create a Permanent Entertainment District to be known as the 14 River Market Entertainment District; and, 15 WHEREAS, it is desired to amend the River Market Entertainment District to extend the boundaries 16 thereof. 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. Creation and Boundaries of the River Market Entertainment District. 20 (a) The River Market Entertainment District is hereby amended to extend the boundaries 21 created by the City of Little Rock as a Permanent Entertainment District and subject to Ordinance 22 No. 21,761 and its defined terms. 23 (b) The River Market Entertainment District encompasses all public places lying within 1) 24 Block 1 of Pope's Addition in the City of Little Rock; and 2) Thirty (30) feet of each side of the 25 centerline of the following blocks of the following streets in the City of Little Rock: 300 - 600 26 blocks of President Clinton Avenue, 100 block of North Rock Street,and 100 block of St.Vincent 27 Plaza, also known as the 100 block of North Commerce Street. 28 (c) The previously-approved boundary of the River Market Entertainment District is hereby 29 extended to include the area from East 2nd Street south to East 4th Street, between Cumberland 30 Street and the Interstate 30 Frontage Road. 31 (d) All other previously-approved operational rules as defined in Ordinance No. 21,762 shall 32 remain in full force. 33 [Page 1 of 2] 1 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 2 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 5 ordinance. 6 Section 3. Repealer.
