Plans are underway to construct a new Airport Traffic Control Tower at the Little Rock National Airport. The proposed tower will improve air traffic operations and provide the latest state of art equipment for the local controllers. The site is located south of the terminal building on a piece of property which was leased from the Little Rock National Airport. The new tower will be approximately 150' tall and will also have a 12,000 square foot base building attached to it. Also an environmental support building will be included in this project. It is my understanding that the height of the tower conflicts with the zoning requirements for this location. We are requesting a variance from the zoning requirements at the proposed site. I have included a copy of an airspace study done by the FAA which approves the layout of the proposed site. If you have any questions please contact me at 501.3720034. Thank you for your cooperation. Pillar, ASW -454 We have conducted an aeronautical study (Study No. 95 -ASW - 1005 -NRA) of the proposed Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) at the Little Rock Regional. Airport. Based on that study, we have no objection to the proposal. The addition of this item to the Airport Layout plan is conditionally approved. This approval is limited to issues of design standards and preliminary airspace review.
