3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SIMPLE WILL FOR ESTATE PLANNING
5 SERVICES, FOR THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 1, 2024, TO DECEMBER
6 31, 2024; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City provides certain benefits for its employees and their dependents, and after a
9 competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified applicant with the best overall rate
10 to provide Estate Planning Services for the current City employees is Simple Will; and,
11 WHEREAS, the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and solely at the expense of the
12 employee.
13 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve an extension of the contract with Simple Will
16 for the period of January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, for Estate Planning Services for City employees
17 and their dependents.
18 Section 2. Funding for the voluntary benefits for City of Little Rock employees is solely at the expense
19 of the employee.
20 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
21 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
22 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
23 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
24 resolution.
25 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
26 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
