3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SYMETRA INSURANCE FOR VOLUNTARY
5 CRITICAL ILLNESS INSURANCE FOR THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 1,
6 2024, TO DECEMBER 31, 2024; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS,the City provides certain a Voluntary Critical Illness Insurance option for its employees
9 and their dependents, and after a competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified
10 applicant with the best overall rate to provide such insurance options for the current City employees is
11 Symetra Insurance; and,
12 WHEREAS, the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and solely at the expense of the
13 employee.
14 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve an extension of the contract with Symetra
17 Insurance for the period of January 1, 2024,to December 31, 2024, for Voluntary Critical Illness Insurance
18 for City employees and their dependents.
19 Section 2. Funding for the voluntary benefits for City of Little Rock employees is solely at the expense
20 of the employee.
21 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
22 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
23 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
24 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
25 resolution.
26 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
27 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
