3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH TRANSAMERICA FOR VOLUNTARY
5 GROUP UNIVERSAL LIFE INSURANCE FOR THE PERIOD OF
6 JANUARY 1, 2024, TO DECEMBER 31, 2024; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City provides certain voluntary insurance options for its employees and their
10 dependents, and after a competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified applicant
11 with the best overall rate to provide Voluntary Group Universal Life Insurance options for the current City
12 employees is Transamerica;and,
13 WHEREAS,the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and solely at the expense of the
I4 employee.
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to approve an extension of the contract with Transamerica
18 for the period of January 1,2024,to December 31,2024,for Voluntary Group Universal Life Insurance for
19 City employees and their dependents.
20 Section 2. Funding for the voluntary benefits for City of Little Rock employees is solely at the expense
21 of the employee.
22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
28 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
