HomeMy WebLinkAbout16104 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,104 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH DELTA DENTAL INSURANCE, IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,500,000.00), TO PROVIDE 7 ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING 8 JANUARY 1, 2024, TO DECEMBER 31, 2024; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the City offers Group Dental Insurance for City employees and their dependents;and, 12 WHEREAS, in October 2020,due to the rising costs of a Fully-Insured Dental Plan,the City decided 13 to move to a Self-Insured Dental Plan with Delta Dental providing the Administrative Services only;and, 14 WHEREAS,the basic cost for employee coverage, including administration and claims service to the 15 City is not to exceed One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars($1,500,000.00)for 2024;and, 16 WHEREAS,Resolution No. 15,327(October 20,2020)authorized the initial term of the contract with 17 Delta Dental for 2021,with the option to extend the contract for six(6)additional one(1)-year terms;and, 18 WHEREAS, the contract term for 2024 represents year four (4) of a potential seven(7)-year 19 term. 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Delta Dental for 23 Administrative Services only for the period of January 1, 2024,to December 31,2024,for an amount not 24 to exceed One Million,Five Hundred Thousand Dollars($1,500,000.00)for employee coverage, including 25 Administration and Claims Service,for a one(1)-year period. 26 Section 2. Funds for this agreement will be available from a line item for Group Dental Insurance in 27 the 2024 Budget. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 32 resolution. 33 Section 4.Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 34 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
