Re: Nextel Partners' request for WCF located at 227 Keightly.
Dear Mr. Carney,
In order to enhance Nextel Partners' (Nextel) coverage in Little Rock, SiteExcell, LLC
(SiteExcell) has negotiated with Equity Broadcasting Corporation to rent space on their 300' self-
supporting tower located at the above referenced address. As per the City of Little Rock's
Wireless Communication Facility (WCF) ordinance, Nextel has authorized SiteExcell, LLC to
submit the attached application for collocation.
The above referenced property is zoned C-3 with a WCF already in place. Nextel will sublease a
small portion of Equity Broadcasting Corporation's property for their equipment shelter. Nextel
has filed the attached WCF Application to grant them the ability to collocate on this tower. As
per the application, Nextel proposes to attach their antennas at the 225' level. The top of the
antennas will not exceed 229'. As I am sure you are fully aware, this tower is located on the
north side of a strip center that includes Rexall Drugs and Shipley's and on the south side of
Ozark Mountain Smokehouse. There is an existing fence and vegetation between the tower
compound and the smokehouse. There is an existing fence on a concrete retaining wall and
asphalt alley to the south of the compound between it and the strip center. There is an existing
building that belongs to Equity Broadcasting to the east of the proposed equipment shelter. The
access easement and Keightly Street are to the west. Sprint Spectrum collocated on this tower
sometime last year. They are located in the east side of tower. It is for these reasons Nextel
would like to request a waiver to the landscape and screening requirement of the WCF ordinance.
Nextel and SiteExcell respectfully request that your office approve this application, which will
allow Nextel to provide adequate service to its customers as required by its license from the FCC
and to better serve the community as a whole.
