Dear Ms. Carney,
Enclosed is a set of drawings for the relocation of the Low Level Windshear Alert System
(LLWAS) for Adams Field Airport at Little Rock, Arkansas. The LLWAS is an early warning
system for surface wind problems.
Airport expansion has rendered the existing LLWAS inadequate for the current runway
configuration. The relocation is required for complete runway coverage and the additional
height will improve the reliability of information.
We are requesting a variance be granted for the planned instrument height and a special
meeting be convened for the issuance of the required variances and permits.
