Dear Mr. Moore:
Attached is an application for a planned commercial development on 33 acres located at the northwest
corner of 1-430 and Highway 10, Joe White & Associates, Inc. is submitting on behalf of John Flake, real
estate advisor for its owner, the Ed Harvey family. The intended user is Bale Chevrolet along with a mix
of future users. Clark McCarley of McCarley Real Estate represents Bale.
The Harvey property is approximately 33 acres of which Bale's development will require 13 acres,
leaving 15 acres available for further expansion. A schematic layout indicates how the remaining
property could develop in the future.
Bale Chevrolet and the Bale family have a long history in Little Rocl<. Mr. Hardin Bale entered into the
auto industry in 1912 and went on to purchase Little Rock's first Chevrolet dealership. What began as
an almost one-man operation, as John Bale, Sr. once commented, "Dad opened the doors each morning
and locked them each night!" Bale now employees over 120 Arkansas citizens. Today, Bale Chevrolet is
being led by the founder's great-grandson and 4th generation Bale, Hunter Bale.
Bale Chevrolet is currently located on Chenal Parkway. The family feels the need to make accessibility
easier for its customers as well as associates. Hunter Bale said, "Little Rocic and all of Arkansas is our
home. We want to be a part of and support the growth of our city and state as we continue to give back
to those who have supported us since 1912!"
