Dear City of Little Rock:
There are often four main reasons why Persons with disabilities
would rather have care inside the home instead of a facility.
1) Home care allows for a more personal, one-on-one
relationship with the caregiver.
2) It's comfortable and familiar.
3) Persons can remain as independent as they are able,
rather than needing to turn over basic tasks to nursing
home professionals.
4) In -home care is often less expensive than care out of the
home.
Unfortunately, not all will have a choice to stay at home or go to
a nursing home. There are special cases in which disabled
persons may have the desire to receive at home services but are
unable to get into a home. Better Care has the capability to
house clients in those specific situations. We are also able to
accommodate any persons ranging from any age with personal
and attendant care which is provided inside a residential home
that is owned by Better Care. With the capability to keep a
caregiver on site 24/7, we are capable of providing around the
clock care for 6 clients at any given time. As stated in the
application paperwork, this is not something that can be done
unless specific licenses are issued. We are hereby requesting a
Special Use Permit to further accommodate the clients currently
working with us now as well as clients that come in the future.
Sincerely,
Better Care Special Use Permits Applicant
