HomeMy WebLinkAbout16070 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,070 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER 4 TO EXECUTE THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT EDWARD 5 BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT APPLICATION 6 AND THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH PULASKI 7 COUNTY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) received eligibility notification for the 10 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, Fiscal Year 2026; and, 11 WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on August 15, 2023, and LRPD advised the public regarding 12 proposed expenditures from the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant; and, 13 WHEREAS,the municipal allocation of the grant fund is Two Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand,Three 14 Hundred Thirty-Three Dollars ($295,333.00), with Pulaski County allocated Forty-Nine Thousand, Six 15 Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($49,615.00), for a total grant funding of Three Hundred Forty-Four Thousand, 16 Nine Hundred Forty-Eight Dollars($344,948.00); and, 17 WHEREAS,the proposed expenditures of the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant were approved 18 during the August 15, 2023, public hearing: 19 Hand Tools and Minor Apparatus $ 95,000.00 20 Computer/Laptop Equipment 129,500.00 21 Departmental Required Training 14,000.00 22 Ballistic Vests 36,000.00 23 Community Relations Programs 20,833.00 24 Municipal Allocation (Total) $295,333.00 25 County Allocation (Total) 49,615.00 26 Joint Allocation $344,948.00 27 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 28 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 29 Section 1. The Mayor and City Manager are authorized to execute any necessary documents and to 30 take any actions, as approved by the City Attorney, necessary to implement all parts of the Edward Byrne 31 Memorial Justice Assistance Grant awarded to the Little Rock Police Department, including,but not limited 32 to,entering into a Memorandum of Understanding with Pulaski County. 33 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 34 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or lPage I of21 1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 2 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 3 resolution. 4 Section 3. Repealer.
