HomeMy WebLinkAbout16067 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,067 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH MUSCO SPORTS LIGHTING, LLC, IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($875,000.00), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND 7 FEES, FOR NEW FACILITY SPORT LIGHTS FOR SIX (6) 8 BASEBALL/SOFTBALL FIELDS AT THE JUNIOR DEPUTY BASEBALL 9 PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. l0 I 1 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock, Arkansas ("the City"), is the owner of the property upon which 12 baseball fields and other fixtures are in place for a youth program that includes, among other things, a • 13 Youth Baseball Program("Junior Deputy Baseball Park");and, 14 WHEREAS, improved lighting has been desired by Junior Deputy Baseball Park users for many 15 years to provide a higher quality and equal field light standard; and, 16 WHEREAS, new lights at Junior Deputy Baseball Park will remove ongoing existing maintenance 17 costs, lower ongoing utility cost,and meet the general sustainability goals;and, 18 WHEREAS, on December 20, 2022, the City of Little Rock Board of Directors adopted Resolution 19 No. 15,847 to express its intent that, under the American Rescue Plan Act ("ARPA") category of 20 Expenditure of Lost Revenue on Governmental Services, funds from the second tranche of the ARPA 21 Funds be prioritized and expended for certain listed government services, which included Capital 22 Improvements at City-Owned Baseball Fields located at 2500 Cantrell Road, also known as Junior 23 Deputy Baseball Park, in the amount of Eight Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($875,000.00); 24 and, 25 WHEREAS, Musco Lighting, LLC, is a light-structure system with total light control — TLC for 26 LED Technology which provides a guaranteed light level, improved luminaire efficiency, increased dura- 27 bility,and an innovative monitoring service that enables scheduling and control of lights remotely;and, 28 WHEREAS, the Cooperative Purchasing Agreement with Sourcewell Master Project No: 199030, 29 Contract No. 071619-MSL will be utilized for procurement, at a cost not-to-exceed Eight Hundred 30 Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars($875,000.00), plus applicable taxes and fees. 31 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 32 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 33 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Musco Sports Lighting, 34 LLC, in an amount not-to-exceed Eight Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($875,000.00), for new 35 facility sport lights for six(6)baseball/softball fields at the Junior Deputy Baseball Park. [Page I of 21 1 Section 2. Funds for this contract are available in Account No. 271459-G0601AR45B-72799 - 2 JUNIOR DEPUTY. 3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 4 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 5 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 6 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 7 resolution. 8 Section 4. Repealer.
