3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO RENAME
4 THE PARK LOCATED AT WEST 4" STREET ANI) SOUTH SCHILLER
5 STREET TO ROSE CREEK PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS,the Rose Creek Neighborhood has supported the development of the neighborhood park
8 located at West 4'h Street and South Schiller Street in Little Rock for many years;and,
9 WHEREAS,the Rose Creek Neighborhood supported the park for many years and has, for example,
10 donated funds to support the engineering design of trail plans which resulted in the construction of a small
11 trail section and plaza with future plans of extension;and,
12 WHEREAS,the Rose Creek Neighborhood holds numerous events at the park each year and provides
13 volunteer help,which has assisted with the development of the park which is known locally as"Rose Creek
14 Park";and,
15 WHEREAS, this neighborhood park is maintained by the Parks & Recreation Department and is
16 utilized for general public use;and,
17 WHEREAS,the Master Parks Plan supports Greenways and Trail Expansion in order to join segments
18 of existing trails and overall connectivity;and,
19 WHEREAS,this property and existing trail infrastructure will provide an important trail link from the
20 Capitol View - Stifft Station Neighborhoods to the Arkansas River Trail once other trail infrastructure
21 projects are completed; and,
22 WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has approved the naming of this neighborhood
23 park Rose Creek Park.
24 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
26 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized rename the neighborhood park located at West 4th Street
27 and South Schiller Street in Little Rock to"Rose Creek Park."
28 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
32 resolution.
33 Section 3. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
34 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
