Home My WebLink About22301 1 ORDINANCE NO. 22,301 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE IT IMPRACTICAL AND UNFEASIBLE 4 TO BID; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A 5 SOLE-SOURCE CONTRACT WITH FARO TECHNOLOGIES, INC., IN 6 AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY-ONE THOUSAND, EIGHT 7 HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE AND 17/100 DOLLARS ($81,883.17), PLUS 8 APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A FARO 9 SYSTEM FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT MAJOR 10 CRIMES DIVISION; TO DECLARE AND EMERGENCY; AND FOR 11 OTHER PURPOSES. 12 13 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department Major Crimes Division has a need to purchase the 14 FARO System with a 3D Laser Scanner that captures millions of data points called a"3D Point Cloud";and, 15 WHEREAS, the 3D Point Cloud creates an accurate 3D interpretation of evidence such as a victim 16 location, DNA evidence and other items of evidentiary value with a crime scene; and, 17 WHEREAS,FARO Technologies, Inc., is the only purchase option for the FARO System;and, 18 WHEREAS,the total cost of system shall not exceed Eighty-One Thousand, Eight Hundred Eighty- 19 Three and 17/100 Dollars($81,883.17), plus applicable taxes and fees. 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorize the City Manager enter into a sole-source contract 23 with FARO Technologies, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Eighty-One Thousand, Eight Hundred Eighty- 24 Three and 17/100 Dollars($81,883.17), plus applicable taxes and fees, for the purchase of the FARO 3D 25 Laser Scanner that captures millions of data points called a "3D Point Cloud" for the Little Rock Police 26 Department. 27 Section 2.Funds for this purchase are allocated in the JAG 22 Grant,Account No.270529-G52DF22A. 28 Section 3. Because FARO Technologies, Inc., is the only dealer the Board of Directors declares it is 29 impractical and unfeasible to submit this purchase to competitive bids. 30 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 31 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and 33 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 34 ordinance. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 2 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 3 Section 6. Emergency Clause.
