HomeMy WebLinkAbout16061 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,061 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH CRAFTON TULL & ASSOCIATES, INC., IN 5 AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED 6 SEVENTY DOLLARS ($80,670.00), FOR PROFESSIONAL 7 ENGINEERING CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR THE DESIGN OF THE 8 ROSE CREEK TRAIL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the Arkansas Department of Transportation is developing a trail connection and multi- 12 use path along Gill Street for the proposed Rose Creek Trail as part of a Federal-Aid project entitled Gill 13 Street& Railroad Overpass Structures and Approaches; and, 14 WHEREAS,the proposed Rose Creek Trail has been identified in the City of Little Rock Master Bike 15 Plan as an important off-street bikeway route connecting the Arkansas River Trail to Rose Creek Park and 16 the Capital View Neighborhood; and, 17 WHEREAS, private property owners along the route of the proposed Rose Creek Trail have 18 approached the City with the desire to assist in trail development; and, 19 WHEREAS, the proposed Rose Creek Trail has been identified as part of Metroplan's Central 20 Arkansas Regional Greenway Network for which Metroplan has committed to allocating substantial grant 21 program funds to develop; and, 22 WHEREAS,the development of design plans, right-of-way documentation and probable construction 23 cost of the project are necessary to make the project eligible for future grant program funds; and, 24 WHEREAS, Crafton Tull & Associates, Inc., was selected under an Annual Statement of 25 Qualifications process, Bid No. 1625,for Engineering&Design Services for the proposed Rose Creek Trail 26 Improvements. 27 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 28 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 29 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Crafton Tull & 30 Associates, Inc., for Professional Engineering Consultant Services, in an amount not to exceed Eighty 31 Thousand, Six Hundred Seventy Dollars($80,670.00), for the Rose Creek Trail Improvement Project. 32 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the %-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating 33 Use Tax Funds, Account No. TS40C32. lPage 1 0121 1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 2 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 5 resolution. 6 Section 4. Repealer.
